Conference Planning Committee

Responsible for the content, or programming offered at CNA's annual conference. This includes identifying relevant topics, potential speakers and overall schedule of the conference. We need fresh ideas and brainstorming on how we can attract more participants by looking at demographics, practice settings, specialties, educators, student involvement, etc.

Membership Committee

The goal of the membership committee is to enrich the experience for CNA members by enhancing the array of benefits available to them. This team is dedicated to fostering deeper engagement within the community, creating opportunities for meaningful connections and collaboration. Additionally, the membership committee aims to extend their reach and impact through proactive outreach initiatives, ensuring that our offerings resonate with a wider audience and positively contribute to their professional or personal endeavors.

Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee

The Government Affairs and Public Policy Committee (GAPP) reviews current bills introduced in the Colorado legislature and drives public policy pertinent to nursing and professional issues. GAPP Committee also informs efforts to revise or review the State of Colorado Nurse Practice Act.

Nominating Committee

The Board of Directors will designate an Awards Committee that is responsible for the awards process and selection of award recipients. The exception is the DNA/SIG Nurse of the Year Awards which are selected by the DNAs/SIGs.

Nursing Continuing Professional Development Advisory Committee

Collaborate with Program Director: in Peer Review of applications based on CNA/ANCC criteria; in determining appropriate action for applications and other requested material; in developing, collecting, monitoring and evaluating Approver Unit Quality Outcome Measures; and for continuous improvement of Approver Unit based on Provider feedback. Council members must have a BSN or higher, active unrestricted license. The time commitments are meeting time and reviews = generally 2 to 10 hours per month commitment.

Board Appointed Committees

Members may express interest in joining the Bylaws & Reference Committee and Finance Committee, however the Board of Directors must approve the appointment to serve.

Bylaws & Reference Committee

The Bylaws & Reference Committee is a committee of the Board of Directors, appointed to monitor the CNA Bylaws for compliance with ANA Bylaws, monitor DNA bylaws for compliance with CNA Bylaws, and prepare amendments and revisions to the CNA Bylaws for action by the CNA House of Delegates. The Bylaws Committee comprises at least 3 members appointed by the Board of Directors for a two-year term. Members are eligible for reappointment.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is a committee of the Board of Directors to oversee the financial affairs of the association and make financial recommendations to the Board. The Finance Committee is composed of the CNA Treasurer, two CNA Board members, and two other CNA members. The Treasurer shall serve as the chair of the committee. The immediate past treasurer serves as a member of the committee for one year. Term of office is for two years.
